I blame the MICE industry for making me fat.Working in events there are so many suppliers desperate for your business. They all call non-stop requesting appointments, they woo you with hotel show arounds (which very often include cocktails, canapés or dinners) and they very often just ‘pop in’ with yummy goodies.
This morning Mark from the Fairmont-Raffles-Savoy chain of hotels came by and delivered delicious, fresh pastries from Patisserie Valerie for breakfast.
Any good Sales rep knows, a good way to a person’s heart (or business) is through their belly and Mark certainly does his job well, because not only does he always bring yummy goodies with a friendly smile (and no massive sales pitch), we most certainly put forward his hotels to our clients because we remember him.
I guess the food thing works then (but does make us porky)… :)
