From the moment you arrive, you are blown away by charm, delight and beauty of it all. "Madame Zingara's Theatre of Dreams is the grande dame of burlesque style." It is "a dinner circque spectacular".
Housed in a 25 metre mirror tent with velvet top, the majestic interior and talented performers take you back to a time of magic and glam.
The waiters are welcoming and socialable, each dressed as a unique character. Sailors and schoolgirls. Angels, devils and queens. A mysterious cat, policewoman or pirate. A pixie, a coon, witch, artist or 1920's dame. All dusted in glitter, with striking make-up, sparkles and frills.
The evening consists of three acts and an impressive four course dinner. Upon arrival you are greeted by a distinctive character, offered a welcoming drink and escorted to your table. You are surrounded by fascinating detail and enchanting furnishings.
For the dinner, to begin, we enjoyed hot and cold Mediterranean anti pasto including Beetroot & Goat's Cheese Tart, Butternut & Corriander soup, green salad (with cashew nuts & cranberries) and bread sticks. Yum! Between the first and second act we took pleasure in the starter - Spinach & Feta Ravioli. Double yum! The main course is a choice of one of four dishes. Their signature Chocolate Chili Fillet, Springbok Shank, Salmon or a vegetarian option. Being renowned for the Chocolate Chili Steak, I had to give it a try. Mom enjoyed the Springbok Shank, but of course we shared both dishes. It was amazing! And of course dessert is always a delight - Trio di dolceletti - Turkish Delight Creme Brulee, Strawberry Mousse and Chocolate Torte. All of it - delicious! Perfectly prepared and well presented.
The performances are fantastical. Too good to even explain. With aerial acts, magic shows, Three Tons of Fun entertaining with their larger-than-life voices (and bodies), a delightful Queen of Tarts, roller skating and unbelievable flexibility, you will be impressed. Without giving away too much, it's well worth seeing.
