It's very popular in the UK to go see a Panto at Christmas time.
A Panto, short for Pantomime, is a musical-comedy theatrical production traditionally performed in the United Kingdom during the Christmas and New Year season. The Panto is usually based on a children's fairytale and incorporates song, dance, slapstick comedy, cross-dressing, topical references, jokes and audience participation.
The Malta Tourist Authority recently invited my colleague and I to attend the Richmond local Pant, Sleeping Beauty. Having never been to a Panto before, I was very excited. We met for pre-drinks at the local pub, received our ticket and snack bag and then walked around the corner to the Richmond Theatre.
The performance was hilarious! It was ridiculously funny and fun to feel like a kid again. The performers were fantastic, so hugely talented and enoumously entertaining.
